Overview

Screw lock binder rings are a more secure method to bind documents than traditional loose leaf binding rings because they feature an actual locking mechanism that screws together, making it much less likely to come un-bound accidentally, even with heavy use. They are rounded in shape, but feature one flat edge that has the screw locking feature to truly secure items together. Just unscrew the locking mechanism on these hinged rings and pull the curved edges apart to easily edit the contents.
Screw lock rings are stocked in a large range of sizes from as small as 2" up to as large as 10", making them the largest book binder rings available. They are incredibly versatile for a huge variety of applications including crafts and photo albums, as well as more corporate uses such as for fashion or for fabric swatches in furniture stores (sometimes hung from ring handles), large flip chart POP displays, and much more. Made of a premium steel material, these book binder rings are more durable and sturdy than other rings on the market.
Sold in packs of 10 book rings, when you buy silver screw lock binding rings online from us, rest easy knowing that you are buying some of the best binding rings on the market.

Description

Screw lock binding rings, also called loose leaf rings, are similar to traditional binding rings, however, feature one straight edge that has a screw locking mechanism instead of a snap-closed mechanism. This unique locking closure keeps the binder rings securely closed, so there are no accidental openings and spilling of materials. Common materials bound with these screw lock book rings are fabric swatches in furniture stores, as well as paper or other material swatches throughout many industries. Often times you may find larger swatches bound with two rings and hung from binding ring handles. Some customers use these rings to bind documents and presentations, create point of purchase displays for retail shops and offices, as well as for at-home uses such as organizing kitchen utensils or crafting. With these secure book binder rings you can rest easy knowing that your bound items will stay bound until you remove them. Even with the secure closure, screw lock rings are easy to open and change out with just a few spins of your fingers.

Screw Lock Binding Ring Expert Review by Mallory Morsa

I RECOMMEND THIS FOR:
Screw lock binding rings are similar to our very popular loose leaf rings, however, are available in larger sizes and feature one straight edge that has an actual locking mechanism to keep your items more secure. Because of the larger sizes available, and the more secure bind, they are a great solution for home décor and furniture shops with showrooms to display fabric swatches. But they’re not just for business owners; individuals can use them to store and organize a variety of items, while small offices can use them to bind books and training presentations. Check out our Pinterest “Binding Ring Obsessed” board for some fun ideas!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THEM:
Screw lock book rings are awesome for several reasons. The most exciting (for me) is how versatile they can be, and how many fun projects and crafts they can be used for! You can craft unique gifts, like a recipe collection, or fun notebook. Or you can organize household items, like sewing bobbins and washi tape. If you’re a teacher, you can create unique teaching tools to help facilitate learning. And of course, you can use them in a more professional setting for your showroom fabric swatch books and documents or presentations…in short, you can do absolutely anything! You can also pair them with these binding ring handles to keep multiple swatches together, and make them easier to transport.

Another reason why I feel our screw lock rings are a smart buy is their variety of sizes available. Where loose leaf rings only come in small sizes up to 3”, these screw locking rings start at 2” and go as large as 10”, allowing for a much larger capacity of materials. No other binding rings on the market come in these sizes! These heavy duty binding rings are also made of a quality metal that is strong enough to handle your heavy materials, while economical enough to be price-friendly for users of all kinds. The screw mechanism is long enough to hold very tight to your items so they can’t force the ring open with their weight or substance. We also sell them in small quantity packs of just 10 rings, so you don’t have to buy more than what you need.

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Before you buy screw lock binding rings, keep these couple of things in mind: ① they only come in a silver color, ② the larger sizes hold so much material, that they can get rather heavy! Before you select a size, be mindful of how heavy items will be with your particular materials on them, and whether or not they will need to be carried or transported often, ③ because the rings combine straight and curved edges, the screw locking mechanism can require some fiddling to open and close properly. This can make it a bit more tedious and time consuming to open and close the rings. This is why I rated the quality with just 4 stars instead of 5.

THE BOTTOM LINE:
Other than the few notes to think about, I love love love our screw lock book rings. They are made of quality metal, come in large sizes to hold a ton of material, and can work for both professional and individual users. If you like the idea of binding rings, but you don’t think screw lock rings are for you, then consider some of our other many other binding ring options. Frequent Asked Questions

Q
I cerrently am using the Traditional binding clips. However, it is too small and I would need about a 3 1/2 inch traditional clip. What size do you recommend with the screw lock D ring?
Asked by Maria
A
Hello. If your pages are in a stack 3.5 inches thick (without pressing them down/compressing them) then you will need a ring that is larger, as the inside diameter measurement is from the corner of the straight edge across the ring at 45 degrees approximately angle. We don't have a hard-and-fast rule because customers have different preferences for how easy they want the pages to flip and how much bulk they are willing to take on the ring itself. We believe that, with your 3.5-inch thickness, most users would choose a 5 inch ring.
